The company’s operational strategy emphasizes professionalism, integrity, discipline and customer satisfaction at all levels to ensure that we deliver the optimum solutions to each individual we serve. Additionally, it is imperative that we focus on a structure that fosters and display quick, timely and meticulous communication in an effort to ensure responsiveness to internal and external changes. Gradient Security and Training Solutions is a fairly new security firm and we proudly boast a workforce of over eighty (80) officers who are readily available to provide services on our behalf at the highest standard. Our workforce comprises of managers, supervisors, armed guards, unarmed guards, security technicians as well as security consultants.
Recruitment and Selection

Recruitment and Selection Process

Gradient Security and Training Solutions is committed to providing optimum security solutions. We are cognizant of how critical our tasks are security personnel in ensuring the protection of life and property as well as business success. In this effort we aim to employ the right mix of individuals through a well designed, yet effective recruitment process. There are specific procedures to follow in this recruitment process. These procedures are as follows:

  1. Completion of Secondary Education
  2. Applicants are required to complete an employment application form
  3. Applicants are required to complete an entrance test. The pass mark is 65%.
  4. Successful applicants will move on to the first interview.
  5. Successful applicants may then present a valid PSRA license or if not, a fingerprint must be done at the Criminal Records Office.
  6. Applicants with a clean police record are the allowed to participate in our New Hire training. Applicants with an unfavourable police record will be rejected immediately. 
  7. Applicants are then required to submit two recommendation from the following: Justice of the Peace, Attorney at Law, Pastor, Principal, Police (Inspector or higher), Medical Doctor, Previous Employer.
  8. Applicant is then carried through the second phase interview. 
  9. Applicants must be able to provide a birth certificate as proof of age.
  10.  Provide a valid Government issues ID
  11. Tax Registration Number and National Insurance Scheme Card
  12.  Applicants are then given a date to come in for the two weeks Basic Security Officer Training.
  13.  A final test is given at the end of the training. The pass mark is 70%.
  14.  Successful trainees are then registered with the PSRA to obtain their Private Security License
  15.  Security Guard is then assigned a location under the tutelage of an experienced Security Officer and Supervisor. 

Interview

Interview And Background Check

Applicants who were successful in the entry test have to be interviewed by a member of our Management Team. This interview assists us in ascertaining whether the candidates are competent and most suitable for the job function being interviewed. 

During the interview process each applicant is assessed on the following factors to ensure their innate skills fit the needs of the business:

Gradient Security and Training Solutions conducts a background check to verify and validate the details each candidate provides specifically their work history.

Training Process

Training

Gradient Security and Training Solutions is committed to ensuring that all our security personnel are well trained and ready to face the demands of the workforce they operate. We do more than speaking about training, we deliver. 

Through our Department of Training, Learning and Development, our guards are currently trained and assessed by a Security Trainer who is licensed as a Security Trainer by the Private Regulations Authority of Jamaica. Each security guard goes through a mandatory two weeks training that seeks to prepare them to be effective Security guards. Moreover, our supervisors also are required to obtain a two-week training prior to assuming their respective supervisory duties. 

ALL persons receive an industry standard certification in the prescribed area of study after successfully completing the training programme. This certificate is recognised in Jamaica and other countries in the Caribbean and it diaspora.
 
To date, our training department has trained and dispensed over two thousand (2000) certified Security Officers who employed in Jamaica, Cayman Island, Barbados and other countries in the Caribbean and diaspora.

Continuous Training

At Gradient Security and Training Solutions we adapt a culture of continuous training for all our security professionals. This is done in the form of refresher courses. These practises allow for a consistent, efficient and effective service delivery by all members of our security operations team.
